The result was a completely new line of guns which changed almost all of the more mature products in 1963–1964. The fast reaction of the shooting press and community was overwhelmingly negative: the popular verdict was that Winchester experienced sacrificed high-quality for the “cheapness specialists,” and Winchester was no longer regarded as
